Air Mobile Teams preparing for possible deployment to Hurricane Katrina ravaged areas!

Report Submitted by Joe Hurston - Air Mobile - Mumbai, India -August 29, 2005 9:57PM (India Time)

Talk about a roller coaster ride today! As we watched Katrina head for New Orleans we made the decision for me to fly back to the U.S. to head up a relief team. The U.S. Air Mobile Team put all the pieces into place. I was scheduled to fly out this evening. Then, MIRACULOUSLY, Katrina jogged slghtly to the east and New Orleans did not take the full brunt of Katrina. We were all so concerned that New Orleans would be completely inundated. Thank God, it appears that that has not happened. Yet we are still monitoring those reports continually.

However.....it appears that Gulfport is taking the direct hit. Our prayers go out to the residents of that region. Air Mobile will do all we can to help in this hour of need. After hours of evaluation and deep consideration, I have opted to stay in India, at least for now. Our U.S. Air Mobile team headed up by my son, Christian Hurston has the operation well in hand. With the wonder of communications, we're in continual touch. I'm able to lend him the assistance he needs from here. Now, this is causing us all to grow in the Lord!!

We are keeping the option open for me to fly back if I am needed on-site there. We will assess the situation on regular basis.

I'll be getting a full debriefing from Cindy and Barbara who went out to the provincial region today while I stayed back to prepare to travel to the U.S. We'll have a full report up tomorrow morning. Our mission here in India is critical. The mission to the Gulf region is critical. Air Mobile has teams working in both regions, by God's grace and strength. God Bless You All and thank you for standing with us.

Joe and the India Air Mobile Team!
